HIKING

The High Fens are known for their varied hiking trails, which take you through moorlands, forests, and open spaces. 

A particularly distinctive feature is the wooden walkways that guide you safely through the sensitive natural areas.

Thanks to its location right in the "Hatzevenn", you can set out on many hikes directly from the apartment.

Important Information on Safety & Rules

Hiking is permitted only on marked trails and boardwalks—the moorland is dangerous off these paths (deep mud, unstable ground)

 

The moor is divided into access zones A/B/C/D:

  • A zones: freely accessible

  • B zones: open to the public on the trails

  • C Zones: only with a certified nature guide

  • D Zones: strictly off-limits

In the moor, wooden walkways can be slippery when wet—sturdy footwear is recommended
