From Dairy Farm to Country getaway

After World War II

Following the Second World War, a portion of our land fell under Belgian jurisdiction. From that moment on, we worked in fields in both Germany and Belgium. For decades, the Victorhof operated as a traditional dairy farm, home to a small herd of around 50 dairy cows and managed with true passion by our family.

A New Vision: Country Holidays

As agriculture evolved, we decided to open our gates to travelers looking to experience the magic of the countryside. In 2001, we welcomed our first guests into the Eifelblick and Schwalbennest apartments. Just two years later, in 2003, we expanded by opening Heuboden and Vennblick.

Elmar Victor, former farmer, now runs the former Victor holiday farm in Monschau, which offers holiday apartments.

New chapter from 2026

Daughters Stefanie and Melanie, alongside Stefanie’s partner Lucas, have stepped in to bring fresh ideas, modern comforts, and new energy to our family property. Together, we are thoughtfully shaping the future of our home—blending genuine country hospitality and modern updates with a deep respect for our farm's history.

Founded in the Fens (1927)

In 1927, Elmar’s grandfather founded the original homestead. Back then, this entire area was wild, untamed moorland—colloquially known by locals as the "Venn." To make the land arable, extensive drainage work was done to dry out the fields. Even to this day, nature occasionally reminds us of our roots; old, clogged stone drains still show just how moist our soil truly is.

Choosing Tourism

By the late 1990s, our family faced an economic crossroads: we either had to expand our dairy farming operations or establish a new source of income. We chose a new path rooted in hospitality. In 1999, we built our very first holiday apartment, officially welcoming the first generation of travelers to our farm.

A new Vacation Concept

In 2024, the Victorhof officially ceased dairy farming, marking a peaceful end to the "farm holiday" era. However, our passion for hosting remained. Today, we have successfully transitioned into a relaxed "country holiday" destination—offering cozy holiday apartments surrounded by meadows, forests, and nature.
